Launched National One-Door System To Do Customs Work From Digital System

Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has said that the government has given priority to the construction of customs infrastructure. He informed that the process of infrastructure development has been continued with the aim of improving the customs administration.
Speaking on the occasion of the 69th International Customs Day on Tuesday, he said that the problems related to customs were decreasing due to the government's priorities.
"Improvements in customs administration have led to a reduction in revenue leakage and other activities," he said.
He stressed on the need for the government and the private sector to work together as they complement each other. He said that the private sector would not be able to function without the active participation of the government and the economy would not be able to function without the participation of the private sector.
He said that the government should help the private sector in times of crisis as well as the private sector should help in times of political crisis and instability.
On the occasion, Minister Poudel inaugurated the Nepal National One Door System developed by the department. Three bodies have joined the system on Tuesday. The department plans to affiliate all 40 bodies by the end of the current fiscal year.
Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Shishir Dhungana informed that the government is committed to the development of customs system based on information technology. Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies Vaikuntha Aryal said that customs should be seen as a body for trade facilitation.
Suman Dahal, Director General of the Customs Department, said that the department has done special work in customs facilitation and use of digital technology even during the Corona transition.
President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Shekhar Golchha stressed on the successful implementation of the one-door system. He said that there has been a huge improvement in the customs administration recently.
Chairman of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce Rajesh Kaji Shrestha said that there was still work to be done in the customs administration.
