One Door System In Industry Registration To Increase Investment
There is a demand from the industrialists that the government should adopt one-door system for registration, establishment and operation of industries that create ample employment. According to the industrialists, the government needs to implement one-door system to complete the process from establishment to operation of the industry in order to establish industry and attract foreign capital.
According to the industry association Morang, many industries are closed in Morang-Sunsari district, which is considered as the first in the kingdom for the establishment and operation of industries.
In the context of the important role of the labor movement in the political history of Nepal, many have considered it unfortunate that even the industries that are supposed to flourish in the country have been shut down.
The industrialists are of the view that the industrial sector has not been able to prosper due to repeated political upheavals, lack of development of infrastructure, unavailability of energy and land, donation terror, Nepal Bandh and other activities. There are 60 industries in Sunsari and 139 in Morang affiliated to the industry association Morang, said Nawaraj Koirala, director general of the industry association.
Apart from Sunsari-Morang, Udayapur Cement Factory, Dhankuta's Nirali Cement, Supreme Cement (Bhairahawa), Grihalakshmi Gas Industries (Pokhara), MS Polynes Pvt. There are rice industry (Jhapa), Bhudev food industry (Sarlahi) and tea plantation (Dhankuta).
These industries have provided employment to more than two lakh people and have made significant contribution to the economic development of the country. Arihant Multifibres Industries (Sunsari), run by the largest Golchha organization in the region, employs more than 10,000 people.
To run the industries, the government should give customs exemption and income tax exemption for new technology industries, said Binod Bhattarai, senior officer of the organization. He opined that the government should not ignore the demands of the industrialists for the industries and industrialists whose employment and production play an important role in the economic development of the country.
